Milestones Ministry provides a faith milestone as a marker along life’s journey that says, “This is something important, and God is here, too.” It is a faith formation practice for both home and congregation that helps all generations recognize God’s presence in everyday life. Milestone ministry is designed to help parents and families pass on the faith from one generation to another. When a child is baptized, we promise God that we will: “…live among God’s faithful people; hear the word of God and share in the Lord’s Supper; proclaim the good news of God in Christ through word and deed; serve all people following the example of Jesus; and strive for justice and peace in all the earth.” St. Mark’s is dedicated to equipping and encouraging parents as they live out their promises made at baptism by bringing children and families to the altar at special times in their faith journey together to bless them and mark the occasion with a small gift.
