When Faith Meets Real Life
When the angel told young Mary that she would have a child called Jesus, the Son of God, she asked, “How can this be?” the angel was ready with the answer. We have questions for God, too. Some questions keep us up at night, and some even challenge our faith. God invites us to be curious because as we seek answers, God comes near in a variety of ways: scripture, prayer, talking with others, reflecting, and allowing the Holy Spirit to lead us. When we humbly ask, “How can this be?” we are seeking to understand the world, our place in it, and the loving action of God to restore all that is broken. Asking questions can deepen our faith.
